Cattle market in Mgagau

Besides agriculture, cattle keeping still is an important source of income for many people here.  Especially the Maasai people are known as cattle keepers.  Also the Pare people and the Chagga have cows these days.  Every Friday you can see all these people at the market buying and selling throughout the day.  It's a 15 minute drive from Same and information can be obtained from motel staff or at the tourist center.
